What is the best book you have found on Vegetable Gardening?
“Sunset Magazine” puts out some really cool, user friendly garden books including a real nifty veggie series. By user friendly, not only do the speak english that we can understand with color pictures and detailed diagrams, but the printed them with materials that allow you to carry them out into the garden with you. They clean up real nice if you get mud and garden crud on them. Any thing short of putting them underwater won’t hurt them. It’s cool to have your answer book right out in the garden with you.

Live in the suburbs of city and have a acre lot and about half an acre to landscape myself, any websites i can look at to get a idea of what to make outa my backyard? Looking to make garden with garden railway.
The “Do It Yourself Network” has ideas. Besides “Landscape”, use other search terms (gardening, walkways, pool, fountains….) to find more. I noticed on the HopePage, they had a link for “water walkway” — sounds interesting, but didn’t check it out.

Also, the public library and home improvement center [i.e., Lowe’s, Home Depot] have books and magazines you can skim through — buy/borrow or not.
Like DIYnetwork, there are also a lot of TV programs on gardening & landscaping — discovery, TLC channels … They are really interesting.
This site does Landscapes (and has a search box). There’s a link on it’s HomePage (currently) on “yards and gardens”.

These sites offer ideas:

This site looks like it may be REAL helpful:

Do a search for “landscape ideas” (and use other terms) in your browser. Search for “parts” of landscaping (like pools, rock, cement structiures/statues, patio furniture, decks…). The results listed usually have their products set in gardens and yards — and you can get ideas. Like this site (check out the links (buttons) across the top):

And, search famous gardens (like botanical gardens … Like Marie Selby Botanical Garden, Sarasota FL), if you know of any, and look at their settings for ideas.
Peace. Have fun!!!!!

Im 18 years old and i just moved out on my own. Im looking for a magazine that has, decorating tips, easy recipes, health tips, fashion and beauty. I was thinking better homes and gardens. but i didn’t want to subscribe and not like the mag. what do u think? will i like it or do u think there would be something better i would like.
Please no smart remarks.
Thanks
It’s a great magazine although there aren’t many beauty tips in it, just mostly about home and garden and they have wonderful recipes. It’s worth the money to subscribe instead of buying off the stand. I know you must be excited about getting your own place, Good Luck!
