Almost like, ” maybe we can pretend she’s a field n instead of the first lady? lol…
I’m sure she does more than gardening,..Honestly!
I hope she influences others to start gardening the way the economy is right now. A lot of people could use the help, food wise. I’m not hurting for money in the least and I had my gardener plant me a veggie garden on the side of the house next to my herb garden. I’d have done it myself, but I have a “black thumb”. Every plant I touch seems to die a slow, horrible death. LOL!

My dad’s birthday is coming up. He LOVES to garden, especially to work with flowers. But, he lives in Las Vegas. He is quite successful despite the arid climate. I thought he might appreciate a magazine subscription about gardening in the desert or in the southwest. Does anyone know of anything like this or how I could track one down? I’m looking for something that would focus on something other than “desert landscaping” (i.e. cacti and rocks) but would show adjustment for planting times, etc.
I found this list: http://garden-gate.prairienet.org/garden_magazines.htm
None of them look like they will go into gardening in the desert specifically, but are any of these better than others?
Sunset Magazine is dedicated to gardening in the West. There are plenty of back issues, books, and online articles written expressly for desert gardening.

I’ve been getting OK magazine, Oprah, and Better Homes & Gardens, and I have never signed up for them!
Someone may have filled out those cards, I wouldn’t be surprised if a bill doesn’t follow.
