Birthday gift ideas for my mom?
Next Friday is my mom’s birthday. I need some good birthday gift ideas. My mom loves gardening, reading. I have already got her gardening tools and books.

What would be a nice gift?
My grandfather’s birthday is coming up, and I would like to give him a nice gift. He is in his 70’s and is extremely well-cultured. He enjoys things from different countries, mostly Asia. I know that he enjoys growing his own vegetables (tomatoes, basil, etc.) as well, but I don’t see any flowery plants in his yard.
He doesn’t like the extravagant stuff, either. He is more the thrift shop type of man.
I am having a hard time wondering what I should get.
I just thought of gardening just because I notice that he’s been into it lately. He gets backaches, so I thought a gift having to do with that may be nice, but can’t think of “what”. It is driving me bonkers.
Would any of you have any suggestions??

these things come in handy when one has to get those pesky weeds out of the garden…. The kneeler helps us get back up, too…. (flipped upside down from how you see it in the pic_)….. And the bootyscooter rolls!!…with your tools on board!!….I even put heavy pots on the scooter and push them to the greenhouse or into a different growing spot….. Big help when you’re alone out there!….good place to keep your cell phone handy and safe, too!…

Housewarming gift?
My cousin (she is also a close friend) has just moved into a brand new home and we are visiting her this weekend. I need suggestions for a housewarming gift, probably nothing over 30.00. Im looking for something a little different than candles, or a picture frame. Thanks!

A rhododendrum shrub for the garden. Or something similar. When we bought our home 20 years ago a friend bought us a japanese maple tree.
She passed away a few years later, but gosh, that tree is still there, standing strong, and keeping watch over our home, and everytime i see it i smile ’cause i think of her and the happiness she brought to my life.
It was the best gift i have ever received!

whats a good gift for someone into gardening/compost?
My husband is into organic gardening and his compost pile is making me want to barf. If there was some product to break it down, it would be a win/win for us! He is also growing blueberries/raspberries/ and a peach tree.

A healthy compost bin has a rich soil smell that’s actually quite nice. If your compost smells like garbage or ammonia, it probably needs more aeration. Cut up the organic waste before adding it, and don’t forget to churn the compost regularly.
If he doesn’t have a tool with which to churn the compost, a garden fork would be a great gift. If he doesn’t want to churn the compost because it causes back discomfort, get him something to soothe muscle pains, or buy a compost bin that has a built-in mixer.
Worms are also great at breaking down large chunks of organic matter — red wiggler worms are pretty popular because they reproduce quickly, and break down o.m. Quickly; however, they are native to Europe, and like all worms, they run (or slither) from soggy soil, which might be pretty gross on a rainy day in the garden.

Are all Olive Garden gift cards redeemable at Red Lobster?
I know there’s some gift cards that say that they are redeemable at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, etc. I’m trying to buy an Olive Garden gift card on their website but I am wondering if they would be redeemable in other Darden locations, too. Thanks!

I just looked on the Olive Garden and Darden websites and found that yes they are…. “Olive Garden Gift Cards can be redeemed at any Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, or LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant in the U.S.” From what I see on the Darden site, it looks like those are the only Darden Locations
