I’m an awful cook, but my son is getting to that age where he can eat what we eat, and while frozen dinners are fine for me, I’m not going to raise him on pizza and spaghettios! So just looking for some suggestions of books and magazines that don’t have tons of crazy ingredients and are fast and easy, but also healthy. In my defense, I WAS raised on pizza and spaghettios, so I blame my lack of knowledge on that!
My favorite 2 cookbooks (other than the cookbooks compiled by the ladies at our church back home!) are from America’s Test Kitchen and the standard Better Homes & Gardens New Cookbook.
Both have tons of basic, simple recipes that help you get started, and there are a lot of cooks’ knowledge sidebars in both that help someone starting from scratch get a good understanding of cooking. ESPECIALLY the basics – like if you want to hard boil eggs, what do you do?? These have instructions!!
Another great book is How to Boil Water. It was published by the Food Network & is great for beginners!

Im doing a level media and for my coursework i need to explore the development of magazines. The last thing i need to know is how have the contents of magazines changed over the years?
Todays magazines are full of half naked women, celebs and everything is sexually orientated. Yesterdays mags, had clothes, recipes, stories, gardening etc.

I want to redecorate my bedroom but i can’t seem to think what i want it to be like. What would be some good magazines that would give me ideas and hints about what i can make it like.
{I’d want to make it kinda girly-ish, if that sorta helps =D}
Domino Magazine is a good one:

Better Homes & Gardens:

BH&G also has many “special interest” magazines that you can find on the newsstands with titles like “Beautiful Bedrooms,” “Cottage Style,” “Creative Home” and so forth. You should be able to find something from them.
Also “Country Living,” “Cottage Living,” “Home,” “InStyle Home,” “Elle Decor,” “Budget Decorating,” “Martha Stewart Living,” etc.
