Blonde Cookbook……well it’s funny, don’t you think?

Blonde Cookbook
It’s fun to cook for Tom. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.
Tom wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn’t dress. What a surprise when Tom brought a friend home for supper
A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kind of silly but I took a bath anyway. I can’t say it improved the rice any.
Today Tom asked for salad again I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients; lay on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving. Tom asked me why I was rolling around in the garden..
I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put the ingredients in a bowl and beat it. There must have been something wrong with this recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.
Tom did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday. I don’t have any clothes that fit it, and for some reason Tom keeps counting to ten.

Tom’s folks came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast but all I had was hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash of genius.. I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very exciting week! I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Tom. If I can talk Tom into buying a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with a chocolate moose.

George asks…

Help with a community garden?

Anyone got any ideas, on what kind of material I would use for home-made, water-proof, name-plates for a community garden?…..We have 4 large, raised beds, sectioned off, so each gardener has their own plot…I want to place their names in each plot. Any wisdom, or crafty folks out there that have done this? Or know of a cheap & easy way to accomplish this?

GardenersCardiff answers:

You could use small sections of a branch. If you know someone with a chain saw or skill saw it should be easy to do. The branch should be about 4 inches across and that would be big enough to burn in the names. Then burn the names in with a wood burning tool. I bought one at Walmart for $12. If you drilled a hole in the top you could put a piece of wire with a hook on top so you can stick it in the ground. You could use these year after year.

You can also use soda cans. Cut off the top and bottoms and flatten the middle. Now in the center over something that has give–like a 1/2 inch foam or a stack of paper napkins write the names with an old ball point pen. The soft metal will indent. Now go over the name with a permanent marker and your names will show in black. Bend a wire into a u shape or use plant staples. Wearing gloves so you don’t get cut and using a pliers bend the side cut part over the wire on each side and then flatten the can and you have a marker

Mini Fridge Help, Easy Ten Points?

With some extra left over money, I’ve decided to buy a mini fridge for my room. I only have about $40-$50 to use, and I have narrowed it down to two choices:

http://www.amazon.com/Koolatron-KWC-4-Coca-Cola-Personal-Fridge/dp/B000JLNBW4/ref=pd_sbs_k_1

and

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/183-1683564-5702431?asin=B000MFIKM8&AFID=yahoo_df&LNM=Home_and_Garden&ref=tgt_adv_XPYD0100

Which is the better choice? I know that they’re both the same size and even have the same theme, but they’re made by two different companies, and they both got good reviews.

Also, if you’ve had either of these, could you tell me what you thought of it?

Please recommend any other mini fridges that you’ve gotten that are good, and within my money limit.

Thanks, and remember, it’s an easy ten points to get if you give em a good, thorough answer!

GardenersCardiff answers:

GardenersCardiff answers:

Wooow. It probably took you way longer to actually type these sentences out than it would to just put the commas in yourself. Point aside, here you are:
1. Dickens’s character Ebenezer Scrooge was a mean stingy old man.
2. Your paper must include the following: first an outline, second three to five pages of text, third end notes, and fourth a bibliography.
3. Emily’s favorite poets are Alice Walker, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Anne Sexton.
4. Yes, I would be delighted to come to your party.
5. Picnickers brought sandwiches, potato salad, lemonade, and fruit.
6. After the concert ended, the audience asked for three encores.
7. In our tent beside the river, we enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep.
8. Pay close attention, Carolyn, while I show you how to crochet.
9. Sulfur has a strong, unpleasant smell.
10. My favorite rock group, the Creed, is appearing tonight at the Odeon.
11. Examining the ground for shells, we slowly made our way down the beach.
12. I am planting radishes, cucumbers, and beans this year.
13. My next-door neighbor Ed is loaning me a tiller for turning over the soil.

Commas are subjective, so make sure to argue with your teacher if she says something is “wrong” because you use commas sparingly

David asks…

Question. Really easy just need a good guess about a price of a home. I need an answer now. 10 easy points.?

I want to know how much this house would cost. It is made of red cedar so it will be expensive. I want to know everything like how much the furniture would be plus a large pool plus gardening. And I know that it will be a few million but it is for a project.

http://lindal.com/homes/gallery/classic/Casa_Islena.cfm

It has to be a close estimate though.

GardenersCardiff answers:

That does look like a lovely place!

The price of a home tends to vary with location. You might want to place an inquiry where you found the pictures for the price of construction itself, which seems to be what you want.

Good luck!
