I know its illegal in Australia, I am not sure about other country’s, but why is it illegal, when you can legally buy it from shops.
Because its taxable, and if you grow your own you wont pay tax.

Sure, you can grow your own tobacco anywhere you want to.
You just have to follow federal law if you intend to sell it.
You can get seeds at the farmer’s co-op.
