How much money could I make farming?
I want to grow mushrooms(legal lol),fruits,herbs and if medical marijuana became legal in Puerto Rico I would like to get involved in that too. I have a few more money making ideas but my goal would be a 100,000 a year. Would that be possible? I wouldn’t buy any big machinery or anything to costly. Also I don’t live in Puero Rico yet but that’s the place of my dreams so I want to head down there

To take home $100,000 a year off of farming anywhere is quite ambitious. Yes, some farmers make that much, but generally these are producers who have large farms and a lot of capital invested. More commonly, farmers may take home half that and any profits the farm makes on top of that is reinvested in the business.
If your farm earns a 10% rate of return (a reasonable goal), you’d need to gross over a million dollars to bring in that kind of scratch.
Are you talking about Grossing $100,000 a year? That’s a little more realistic for a start-up farmer. Keep in mind that’s a long way from netting $100,000 a year.
Do you have any start up capital? How to you plan to acquire land? And it’s fine if you don’t want to buy any “big machinery”, but virtually all farming operations require some investment in plant and equipment.
Do you have experience in farming? You mention mushrooms, fruits, herbs – that’s a wide range. You also mention medical marijuana – that’s a whole thing unto itself. It can be highly profitable, but it comes with it’s own challenges which I won’t get into. Bottom line – do you know what you’re doing?
If you want to succeed in this venture, you should develop a comprehensive business plan.

Hi I’ve been into shrooms for about 2 years now, and I even grow my own anceatas, I plan on growing gold teachers too, but if they are just a nickname for cubensis than I plan not too, also is their any other teacher mushroom other than golden?

May I have your best home made spaghetti sauce recipe please?
I am growing my own tomatoes and peppers (red and green). I would like to make my own pasta sauce when they are ready, but I need a great recipe. My nana used to make really good sauce, but she passed away before she could share her secret. Thank-you in advance.

Fresh Tomato-Pepper Sauce
serves 2
1 cup fresh plum tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 TB. Fresh basil, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 onion, minced
1/4 cup red wine
1/8 tsp. Black pepper
Pinch red pepper flakes
Pinch of white sugar or splenda sugar substitute
2 TB. Parmesan cheese, grated
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over med-low heat for 10 minutes. To add a flavor element I like to cut the tomatoes in half and cut the peppers in half cut side down on a baking sheet and spray with vegetable oil (olive oil), salt and pepper. Put under the broiler to bring out the sweetness and add roasted taste. Then chop and add to the sauce.
Add cooked meat, garden burgers cut up, mushrooms and your favorite vegetables (good with roasted zucchini).
Add cooked pasta (2 minutes less than package directions) directly to the sauce and finish cooking together for 2 more mins.
Use pasta water in the sauce if it’s too thick.

Has anyone ever grown coffee beans? How long did it take you? Was it worth it to wait to grow them or?
is it better, cheaper and faster to just buy them from the supermarket?
What if I grew them inside or in a greenhouse would that make it do-able?

It is too difficult to grow your own cofee beans here in the states. Not the right soil or climate friend. Plus you would have to grow a few acres of it to get the quality and quanity you need, so your are a slave to the grocery store it seems

I just purchased a coffee plant from a locally. It appears to be under a year old. I would like some help with the watering schedule and fertilizing schudule for the year. I live in southern ontario Canada. I plan on keeping this plant indoors. Also would like to (one day) harvest my own coffee from it. Please let me know.

I want to become a nurse and travel the country and where ever I settle down I want to start a few businesses like a maid service and a moving company. My real passion would be a coffee shop or a place for teens to smoke hookah . I would also like to grow medical marijuana and own a dispensary and a smoke shop/ edibles. But i want to settle down on a lot of land. But I feel like I don’t know nearly enough to make it all possible. Im also very interested in real estate. As u can tell I want to retire early and spend most of my life traveling the world. I want to avoid being an employee working the 9 to 5 but I need some advice on all my dreams

It looks like you have lots of things that you want to do and accomplish. Travelling and earning at the same time can be possible. But the things that you mentioned are impossible at this time. You have to carefully plan for it. You know the saying “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” it applies to this kind of situation. Starting up a business is not a joke. You will have to shed money and dedicate time. Not all business ends up being a success. Many fails because they lack the time of planning it well. Take things one at a time. Decide which business do you really want to push through and know if it will be profitable enough and how sure are you that it will be stable so that you don’t end up being bankrupt.

I would like to grow just 1 or 2 marijuana plants as a school experiment and project?
I am asking how to grow a few plants only using my kitchen and every day indoor lighting to grow Marijuana. People in states that allow medical marijuana buy these plants at a price far above its actual cost due to it being illegal. Now the risks may no longer exist in many states and people can grow their own now for medicinal purposes in small quantities. There is no way to determine today how much THC is needed for a plant to be effective for medical issues and these stores sell weed (for lack of a better word) up to and above 25%. This may, just may over medicate them. Weed cannot be regulated because no content of this chemical can be known until after the plant has matured I believe thus placing many in a stupor and unable to perform their every day activities.
PLEASE ! I just want to know how to germinate the seeds in the kitchen oven like they did in the 60’s and 70’s. The minimum light needed for indoor plants. Everything about cropping new plants. I need to submit an action plan before I can get permission to do this study and conduct my experiment. If they are gonna legalize this plant and its use for medical issues I need more information as to how to grow, costs and materials need needed for indoor growing without using expensive materials. Like a beginners book for dummies to grow their own legal medicinal plants. I went to a store which sold medical marijuana and the cost of a weeks supply was way more than I had dreamed of. With marijuana becoming legal the risks are much lower and maybe punishment MAY end who knows. My goals are to help those who cannot afford hundreds of dollars every month for ANY medication that is needed to benefit from. Why not HASH? it has a higher THC level than weed and is much cheaper per dose?. I just need information and nothing more until I get permission for this project of mine. I will NOT do anything that’s illegal. I do remember using a newspaper wet, in a kitchen oven before planting. My second goal is to grow this for personal use as cheap as possible. with at least a content of about 10% THC.
My degree is in the medical field and nothing I will do will be done without permission everyone. Many scientists conducted experiments in the past to help people that may benefit from the results. I am attempting a plant or two only not a crop. If the marijuana laws are permitted eventually by federal law then my paper and book will be one of the first helpful publications to aid those in need. Everything will be done under supervision by the authorities if necessary. Soon, I see marijuana being legalized once again due to the support of every American and now even elected officials. My home will be ideal due to costs and it will be 1 or 2 plants again I state not a crop of it..

Seriously, what’s it to you if someone else is high? they aren’t hurting you when they responsibly get high anymore than someone who responsibly gets drunk…
And I’ve heard the argument that the government doesn’t want it legal because then people would just grow their own weed and the government would be unable to tax it…bullshit, people grow their own tomatoes and strawberries all the time and the government doesnt seem to have the least problem with those being legal and untaxed. besides, you could make the same argument about tobacco yet nobody grows tobacco in their own house, why? because it is a lot cheaper to buy tobacco than to grow it yourself, just like it would be much cheaper to buy weed than to grow it yourself if it were made legal…
People get responsibly drunk all the time…just because one person gets drunk irresponsibly does not mean that it is an impossible feat, it just means that someone had a bad night; if they do it repeatedly, it means they are a moron and truly irresponsible.
Weed is not addictive. I have gone three months with it, and then on a dime I quit for a month, it wasn’t that hard at all.
Guy with the comment about how sad your friends are now that they have started to smoke weed, I’ll tell you what’s sad. What’s sad is watching somebody you have known your whole life die of lung cancer because they couldn’t put down their cigarettes. I have not yet heard about anybody catching cancer from weed (if you can find a story, I IMPLORE that you share it with me), yet weed remains illegal, while cigarettes remain legal.

I think most people don’t want it legal because they don’t know the true facts about marijuana. Everyone has seen and heard about how the drug kills brain cells and things, but they were never told how those tests were conducted. Jack Herer wrote a great book chapter 15 is called The Official Story Debunking Gutter Science talks about how those tests were flawed at best and fabricated at the worst it a great book here is a link to the book it is free.

Tips on how to grow my own weed?
Hi,
I just want some opinions on this topic. I have been smoking weed for a while now….not religiously, but I’m pretty sick of counting on other people for hook ups. I’m 20 (I’ll be 21 soon) , I live in Colorado, it’s legal to have two plants if I’m 21. Does anyone have experience growing weed? Is it really hard? What types of materials do I need (lights, etc?)? Would it be cheaper for me to grow my own weed, or is it still expensive? I don’t plan on selling it. Just enjoying it.

First off its not completely legal in your state yet. Law aside, you just need a $40+ grow light, a closet, and a pot or bucket. Keep in mind only female plants will produce buds, so choosing feminised seeds will keep out any males, but natural seeds are cheaper and males can be removed manually. Keep the lights on the plant constantly while the plant is growing (vegetative state) and switch to 12 on 12 off to induce flowering after about 1 to 2 months of vegging. Flower for one month then hang it in a dry room with a fan on. Trim it up then leave it in a mason jar for atleast 2 weeks to cure and keep it there to store it fresh. Theres a bit more to it, but thats about what you could expect in a grow op. Grow outside where possible. It produces up to 10x as much dry weight outside. Dont expect it to be very dank your first grow either. Good luck

Don’t be a dickhead. My bestfriend died from that stuff, it gave her Seizures, Schizophrenia, and more. Every 45 seconds a pot grower is busted. What would happen, or WILL happen when you get caught hm? Your parents, friends, family. You will never be able to be a Doctor, a nurse, or even work anywhere near drugs such as Chemists. Weed fucks you up. Dont even bother babe, stick with lollypops.

How can I be jobless and homeless, yet manage to smoke weed all day every day?
I dont care about money for food, water and shelter. Most people in America need to realize all these things are so abundant to find, that they are practically free in our country anywhere.
Weed, however, the most precious herb in the world, is a whole different issue. If you were jobless and SOON to be homeless, 23 years old and depended on weed to make your life much much happier (and I am when Im high), what would you do?
Any agencies that give out weed or something? Somebody I can labor for who pay me at least enough to buy an eighth a day? (Im not a criminal but I do have one misdemeanor on my record so job finding will be tough) What would you do? Buy your own seeds, find a secluded area, and grow your own batch?
A bar of soap wont cost a lot and will last. Same with shampoo and toothpaste. Water sources are everywhere. I plan to fast a lot, but even if i didnt, food is always cheap. 3 bucks will give you 3 solid meals a day at Mcdonalds-protein, fat and carbs all there. Laundry i’d probably have to pandhandle for a little bit just so I could wash everything once a week. Backpack to keep all my stuff.
But living this sort of life would suck without something to help you cope with. I feel like Im asking for very very little out of life. The least life could give ME, is a way to smoke weed all day every day. How? Please help.

Many people who beg for money on the street actually make quite a bit each day, if you know the right places to go and have the right story. If you can appear clean and sane, you’ll probably get more money. I don’t want to guarantee how much you’d make, but it would be enough to buy a bit of weed for a day.
However, if you didn’t smoke weed, think of how much extra money you could have for food, hygiene, clothing…living on the street, your stuff will get stolen. You’ll get beat up and other street people will rob you. You’ll need money to replace your stuff. Some homeless shelters may be able to provide some of those resources for you. There are also always soup kitchens, food banks, church clothing drives, etc to get free stuff.
Around the downtown area there are often employment assistance centres. I’m talking about free, not-for-profit agencies that offer free internet use and help finding jobs and creating resumes. You should find a place like that in your downtown core and try to get a job. They also help with housing. There are social workers that work in those places, who have relationships with landlords in the city and can help find you a job and a flexible place to live. Check it out. Living on the street is a lot harder than you make it seem. You’ll be stolen from, injured, alienated, sick, and soon addicted to hard drugs.

I live in Oregon which allows Medical Marijuana but does not allow Medical Marijuana dispensaries. I was wondering were do you obtain your marijuana from a legal source, or can you even?
I don’t believe that the government you supply you with your own marijuana seeds or plants, but they expect you to be able to grow (or have someone) plants.
This question is for (legal) Medical marijuana users with or without dispensaries in their states and for anyone who has knowledge on the laws and legality.
