Now that I live in an apt. I still get the urge to dig in the dirt. I guess you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. I plant herbs, greens, veggies and flowers in containers. How about you?
All wonderful answers. Thank you all.
I love seed catalogs and we get them about this time of year. We live in the country but I love flowers in large containers. I grow tomatoes in pots on the deck off the kitchen. Also flowers around the sunroom. We have a circular drive and at the end of each I have old wash tubs full of petunias. We have snow on the ground that has turned to ice, so these catalogs give me hope. Poppy

I have seen these a few years ago in gardening catalogs, but none of them have them now. They are about a foot long, and drill a hole that is about 4 inches in diameter. Thanks…

I can’t seem to find Canadian balsam tree saplings or Doug Fir saplings anywhere around, nor in the garden catalogs. Where is the best source, as I want to plant some out back?
You may want to plant seedlings, not saplings. Seedlings are much easier to transplant, have a higher success rate and are available from most nurseries or garden centers. You could start here: www.nurserymen.com or weyerhaeuser.com
