I love garden gnomes, but unfortunately, so does everyone else, so they are really expensive. I’m not talking about the ceramic concrete ones, just the plastic resin ones.
Does anyone know where I can get a gnome or two without spending a fortune?
Walmart or Big Lots.

As we all know, Garyism is an offshoot of the Church of the FSM, albeit unofficial. We believe that while the FSM is responsible for the creation of the world, several wonders attributed to him are actually performed by Gary the Golden Garden Gnome, a descendant of the first Midget created by the FSM.
What do other Pastafarians think of Garyism?
Where can I learn more about Gary?
Those garden gnomes always look like they’re up to something.
I think that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a secure God, who will not be threatened by Gary the Golden Garden Gnome getting some attention.

I once saw one in someones yard that has one where it’s mooning. Where can I find funny Garden Gnomes like that ?
Try making your own…that’d be funny looking!!! You could do it with your woman…bit like the pottery scene in ghost. Kill two birds with one stone, sex and a piece of art (ish)

Does the fern that grown on a cactus reproduce?
Mushrooms are categorize in fungi and by no means produce their own food. They are exclusively hetrotrophs.
So long as ferns are concerned they reproduce by forming spores. But if you think the ferns are reproducing with cactus ,the answer is not for sure.
George asks…
why should we grow our own food?
Because there may come a day when you have no choice but to grow some of your own food and I would hate to wait until that day to start learning, kind of like waiting till the power is out to run for flashlight batteries. Have you ever been to the store and observed how people act when a storm is coming? Its never a good idea to be completely dependent upon any one system. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our ancestors growing there own food and its foolish to think that we shouldn’t carry on some of these traditions that got us where we are now.
Robert asks…
The lawn.. the lawn along with the suburb is an absolute ecological disaster.
I think that if people took the extra time and effort to grow their own food the world would be a lot more peaceful and happier.
Gardening is hard work which would require the American fatass to work and work hard for his food – people would get more exercise and eat healthier.
My last point is it would greatly improve the biodiversity of this planet – there used to be 1000s of different kinds of potatoes now there are only 4. so how about instead of living in the middle of grass we live in the middle of a forest with many different bugs and butterflys that live with the plants to ensure sustainability.
oh yea and whats all this stuff about making growing your own food illegal? can they do that? or will civil disobediance result in a few well needed public hangings?
Ok…your assuming everyone has a yard with soil adaquate for growing food.
Where are all the people who live in appartments supposed to do their gardening?
What are people with poor soil supposed to do?

I am trying to write an article about a vegetable and herb garden. Does anyone know how many colleges have a vegetable and herb garden that supplies their food service units?
Nah, they just have maruijana plantations =]

Other than gardening supply stores, where’s a good place to buy or find composting worms, specifically red wiggler worms or European nightcrawlers. I live near DC
Uncle Jims. They are the best. OK for fishing too.

A few years back a female hummer came to my window feeder. In amazement, I watched as she had a baby on her back, while she fed. I had my camera handy, but could not get to the window carefully, before she took off. This would have made a fabulous picture. I’ve never seen any pics in garden magazines of this, and wondered if anyone else had ever seen a mama hummingbird take her baby for a ride.
sorry i believe i have entered this in the wrong category
Yes, I have and I DID get a picture….have a large zoom lens on my camera. Aren’t hummers the best fun to watch? I have 8 feeders in my yard.

I know someone who has had back surgery but loves to rake. I can’t find any bent handle yard leaf rakes anywhere, they’re supposed to take pressure off the back while raking. I’ve seen them in Better Homes and Garden Magazine but there wasn’t the option to purchase one. Please help.
We bought one about 5 years ago at Home Depot and we’ve never had to replace it! It was reasonably priced as I recall, and is really nice to use.
Good luck!

We have three layers that never learned to roost at night. So instead of sleeping on the lovely roost we built, they pile up on each other in the corner of the coop. I don’t think it’s very healthy for them because they end up sleeping in their own poop. How can I get them to use the roost?
Is the roost to high off the ground? Some chickens are to lazy to jump or fly or hop to high… Wouldn’t worry about’em getting sick but you could sweep there spot out everyday or so…
Every try to drive a chicken like driving a horse or cattle? Chickens are sure not the same. Never could drive chickens so getting them to use the roost is pretty difficult…
Susan asks…
Hops are usually grown from rootstock. Several homebrew supply shops carry them, in season. You might start with the Brew Your Own (magazine) website and use the links to their advertisers.

I own a growing drink company and was looking for a celebrity (preferably hip hop artist) to invest in the company and become a partner. Who should i contact and how?
I assume they have an agent or representative of some sort who handles all that. Go to their website and look for contact information, especially one that refers to “booking” or “appearances”.

Such as bypass pruners and other tools that have become weathered.
Let them dry. Brush off the debris and dirt. Lightly oil blades to discourage rusting.

Why do people use garden gnomes? Myths?
There are several legends about gnomes or fairies or suchlike performing tasks around the house and garden at night, when the owners were asleep. This thought has persisted in the use of garden gnomes.

In my backyard, the garden gnomes and faeries, the live in the flowers in my garden, can never get along. They’re always fighting, and I can never stop them! I don’t know what to do! What should I do? Does anyone know any methods to stop the gnomes and faeries from fighting? I tried telling them, but they won’t listen…
Thanks in advance:D (btw please no spam!)
they* live in the flowers in my garden, sorry typo!
Gnomes and Faeries will never get along. You might try encouraging both sides to establish and respect territorial boundaries, but don’t expect either side to honor any treaties.

Fact:1 Suicide Happens Every 40 seconds
Suicide
Seems like a easy way out,
telling everyone you quit,
couldnt deal with it anymore,
I understand,
I thought of doing it a few times,
maybe i could,
maybe deep down,
I wouldnt,
but lifes so short already,
why dont you try to find the good in the short time?,
hey, its hard, i know,
shoot yourself,
hang yourself,
put the razor to you skin and put a deep short gash,
when your on your last breathe you may even realise,
life is ment to be hard,it isnt ment to be fair,
people putting you down,
judging you,
talking about you,
saying and doing the cruelest things,
why are they so mean?,
we all are gods children,
its your choice,
you will be in gods care early in his garden with your lost loved pets and people,
im not going to judge. but before you do it, please think of what you could be doing in the future partying, having fun and what your leaving behind, crying people.
Maybe the reason you do suicide is because you dont love anyone or no one loves you,
theres nothing exciting in life.
But Hey. Thats Suicide
what do you think??
i dont think its a poem haha.
so yer be a critic but not a hater theres a FINE line between those things.
jonny sure go for it and thanks <3
Dude, that is amazing! Do you mind if i keep that to put like on my school binder or something? Im not gonna take credit or anything, i just think its really good (:

I made a large family in the Sims 3 to shake things up from my easy 3-4 person families. The family I’m working on has one elder, two adults, a teenager, and a child. This may not sound too hard but only one of the adults works and the budget it very tight. Also, I’m driving myself crazy trying to micro manage every sim to his/her highest level of productivity. Realistically, this isn’t possible. My teenager can’t go to school, come home, do homework, work on skills, cook diner, work in the garden, and be best friends with all of her family members at the same time. So my question is this: what would happen if I let them somewhat fend for themselves? Let them decide when they need to eat or go to the bathroom or even when they need to go to school. Will they be failures at life if I don’t make them nearly master at least one skill before they move out or all the children are A+ students? What things will and won’t they do on their own? I really need help on this because being a control freak over small things like the bladder levels of all 5 people in the house is driving me crazy! Help!
Play sims 2.

My hobby is gardening but my knowledge about gardening is very poor. I want to enhance my knowledge regarding it.
Your local nurseries should have a supply of books about your local conditions. The price will be a bit high, comparatively, but theirs no substitute for exacting advice about your own garden conditions. And they usually have sections explaining the basics along with them. I can’t say I have any generalized favorite books. Too many plants in those books that won’t work for my conditions. It’s disheartening. Although, I do like some of the stylistic ideas in Beautiful Gardens Made Easy by Miracle Gro. And if you like Cacti at all, Terry Hewitt wrote an awesome one called Cacti and Succulents.

I have some banana trees. I do not live in a tropical climate, I live near the Mississippi River in the upper midwest.
You grow them from trees. The trees shoot up new trees when they are about two years old. You can separate the new baby trees from the roots of the bigger trees to grow separately. They do not have seeds.
We take our banana trees outside in April where we plant them in sand and full sun. At about age five, they will drop a long rope with a beautifully sweet-smelling flower on the end of it. Small four inch bananas then form on the top of the plant that grow upward not down like you see them in the stores. After having bananas the big tree dies. By that time it is about ten feet tall or more.
Each fall in mid October, we dig up each tree, cut off all the leaves and wrap the roots in a garbage bag then haul them to the basement. They winter there where we dribble water on each rootball about three times during the winter. In spring we take them back out where they sprout new leaves and grow.
I accidentally killed some of them last year by fertilizing them. So just for reference, do not fertilize. Just let them grow. They are sturdy, hardy plants. And when you get rewarded with a flowering tree you feel wonderful. Their scent is beautiful.
Robert asks…
To grow your vegetables organically does not take a lot of space. Have been growing our own for many years and it great to know where your food is coming from and under what conditions it is grown. With climate change it might be a very useful hobby! With a quarter acre and a freezer its possible to grow all your needs for a small family.
In my country Hungary most people who have a garden grow some vegetables and have fruit trees. We have them too. It’s a very useful hobby but for people who have low income it’s a way of survival.
We don’t use chemicals but my greatgrandma used a lot and it sometimes made everybody run to the toilet like crazy.lol
Our vegetables and fruit are good tasting but we’ve gotta watch what to plant and when we trim the trees. One apricot tree has died cause I trimmed it when the weather was getting warm and I didn’t put tree-cream on the wounds only a day later and it died of Monilia, so gotta be careful with the timing and do the work properly when doing biogarden.

No, it’s not illegal.

There are dozens of, “how to,” sites and information on line regarding seeds, growing tips, etc.
Robert asks…
I,m just totally curious, but is it legal to grow your own tobacco? Someone made this suggestion on a local Rants and Raves board, and I’m wondering if there are any laws forbidding it…Anyone know?
In Missouri it is OK to grow but I have not sold any.
