some elves just attacked my garden gnomes.man i need some more beverages.
The garden gnomes eventually.I ‘ll bring you a cooler of beer. However, I think your gnomes should suffer a little first for drinking all the beer in the fridge again, plus it is free entertainment. Cheers.

For the past 2 years the Lawn Gnomes and Pink Flamingos in our hood have been at war. They have attacked each other with weed whackers and gardening claws, even resorting to massacring entire clans with a Black & Decker self propelled mower.
Last week we brought in a Granny With Bloomers to act as a mediator however she was attacked last night by a herd of polyresin deer and may not recover. How can we stop the carnage?!?
It sounds to me as if you should call your state Gnovernor, who will instruct the Attorney Gneneral to send in some Gnendarmes.

Is it cheaper to buy your own fruits and vegetables from the grocery store or is it cheaper to grow your own?
Mixed situation. You certainly cannot grow ALL the vegetables you need w/o a lot of space and work; possibly a big water bill too if you live in a drought area.
Fruits are dubious unless you have orchards and the manpower (and pollinators) to manage them. The plants tend to be very susceptible to disease and pests and have other demands like freeze hours.
Best thing is to identify what WILL grow well in your area w/minimal watering or soil adjustment (example: I live somewhere that has very alkaline soil and water, which makes most crops very difficult.) per the season and using those items heavily instead of the supermarket’s ‘buffet’ produce selection. Where I live, I’m very limited, but still manage to produce salad greens, hot peppers, melons, and cucumbers with enough to share with friends. I also make my own compost so I don’t have to buy it for fortifying soil and I collect rainwater when I can so I don’t run my water bill up.

You know what I mean. Whats the easiest fruit or veggie to grow from seed from their own plant.
Any of the beans (legumes) are really easy to grow from their own seed. When kids come in and ask for a fast growing and easy to germinate seed, I always recommend beans.
Most any of the seeds you get from other veggies should do fine, but to answer your question, I will stick with beans. That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it–LOL.

Just wondering how many others do it.
Bandett- I’m just curious, no need to get rough about it.
Well I am not a vegetarian but my family owns am 1800 hectare crop farm.. We have fruits, grain and veggies, organic and non organic…part of the farm (one of two lakes)has also been desinated as a wildlife sanctuary for migratory birds

is it better, cheaper and faster to just buy them from the supermarket?
What if I grew them inside or in a greenhouse would that make it do-able?
It is too difficult to grow your own cofee beans here in the states. Not the right soil or climate friend. Plus you would have to grow a few acres of it to get the quality and quanity you need, so your are a slave to the grocery store it seems

I just purchased a coffee plant from a locally. It appears to be under a year old. I would like some help with the watering schedule and fertilizing schudule for the year. I live in southern ontario Canada. I plan on keeping this plant indoors. Also would like to (one day) harvest my own coffee from it. Please let me know.
Thanks.
I think you’ll find this site very informative http://houseplants.about.com/od/Tropicals/p/Coffee-Growing-Coffee-Plants.htm
It says that you need to try to replicate the humidity found on mountainsides so good luck!
Constant watering and boiling of kettle perhaps?

I want to become a nurse and travel the country and where ever I settle down I want to start a few businesses like a maid service and a moving company. My real passion would be a coffee shop or a place for teens to smoke hookah . I would also like to grow medical marijuana and own a dispensary and a smoke shop/ edibles. But i want to settle down on a lot of land. But I feel like I don’t know nearly enough to make it all possible. Im also very interested in real estate. As u can tell I want to retire early and spend most of my life traveling the world. I want to avoid being an employee working the 9 to 5 but I need some advice on all my dreams
It looks like you have lots of things that you want to do and accomplish. Travelling and earning at the same time can be possible. But the things that you mentioned are impossible at this time. You have to carefully plan for it. You know the saying “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” it applies to this kind of situation. Starting up a business is not a joke. You will have to shed money and dedicate time. Not all business ends up being a success. Many fails because they lack the time of planning it well. Take things one at a time. Decide which business do you really want to push through and know if it will be profitable enough and how sure are you that it will be stable so that you don’t end up being bankrupt.
Good luck to your career!

Sounds like “You can grow your own weed. Grow your own weed”
I love this song!
Great song and album and they were probably on something a bit stronger than weed.
James asks…
ok so everyone knows that weed is illegal but does that make since to you? im doing a term paper on the legalization of weed and i want to see what you guys think about it. i have some rules that i think if weed was legalized that should have some rules and regaltions for it. such as the can grow weed just like they do tobacco. you can only smoke it at your home or in a bar, if you are caught smokeing weed or high while driving your car or operating anything that has to do with someones life (doctor, car makers, etc) you go to jail basically give weed the same laws that alchole has. and grow them like they do at tobacco plants and all that. and of course it should be taxed and help bring the econmy back up. i dont think you should be allowed to grow your own weed without a licences as well.
You need to convince the majority of the public that it should be legal. No politician will support a bill to legalize marijuana while it is sociably unacceptable. It would be political suicide for them.
Once society starts to accept it, you will probably see more and more politicians supporting it. But, the way things are going now, that will probably not happen. It is actually going the opposite direction for tobacco. And since marijuana has a much more intoxicating effect than tobacco, I don’t see the public accepting marijuana while rejecting tobacco.
Jenny asks…
Any tips on buying weed? How do you find out who’s selling? And once you do, how do you tell if they’re safe to buy from? What’s the price? Growing your own? Any advice in general?
Thanks! ; )
lol thanks everybody! And ya I know it’s a rather silly question to ask, but I really do want to be as informed as possible before I get into any trouble.
I don’t buy it. It grows by itself in the yard. I actually try to ge tried of it, but it is too hard to kill off.
Do you have any ideas how to prevent weeds from growing in my lawn?
