Linda asks…
Any new 2006 garden tool or gaget I’d like to hear about?
MASTER GARDENER TO THE RESCUE
First let me apologize for the comment made by DWJOHNSON. Yahoo! Is working hard to get rid of users such as that who have nothing to offer and only show the lack of responsible behavior that type of comment brings to Answers.
On the other hand, the dude is correct. There is a new Hoe (with an H sound) out this year. Also a wire leaf rake and light duty spade. Made in China, company name unknown, they are a spiffy group of garden tools for lite weight duty that collasp and expand as needed. A twist of the handle and it doubles in size for some quick garden chores, another twist and it telescopes into itself for storage. Unusually good quality for a tool from china. Found mostly in fancy garden designer shops. Price varies and is reasonable.
I got them for my 6 year old as they adjusted to his smaller size. But after checking them out, I swiped them for my own use.

There is a garden tool that Billy Mays (God Love Him) used to advertise. I pulls weeds by the root without you having to bend over (and break your back) Does anyone know the name of this tool and where I can purchase one. My 76 yr old mother insists on still doing her own gardening but she has an artificial hip which doesn’t allow her to bend as easily as a real hip does. She’s killing herself out there and she won’t let me help. I don’t want to discourage her from remaining active….I think it’s great that she doesn’t want to just sit and knit or watch TV and become sedentary. But, I really think this tool would help. Can anybody give me the name of it and/or direct me as to where to purchase one?
It is either the Awesome Auger (see this site)

or the Garden Weasel
It is very nice to see your concern for your Mom. I hope the above information helps.
