what need too be changed in this essay? is it good for a 7th grader?
Between the time of the nomadic society to the agricultural revolution, society made a significant technological transition. The lives of the two societies revolved around their need for food. The weather conditions affected their ability to get food, and often the weather was hot and desiccated. When the nomadic inhabitants discovered the agricultural way of life, they knew they could have more offspring, because they were confident there would be enough food to feed their families. Although this was not a smooth transition from the nomadic .way of life to an agricultural existence, history would prove the scale of differences is closer than they know. Additionally, that small difference is what they need to help each other to survive.
To be an agricultural member means you live in one place and you uphold yourself by growing your own food and for meat growing your own livestock. The nomads traveled with their food and had no stable residence in one place for thousands of years. Where they hunted and gathered depended on the nature of weather in specific areas. Some animals or plants only like warmer or colder weather so they had to adjust where they went according to that. Both societies felt a strong abhor for each other, but had a need for each other’s support.
The nomadic civilization originated in the Middle East. They lived in this manner for thousands of years. This was including Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. The men hunted for their food and the women gathered natural things like vegetables, plants, herbs, and fruit. The agricultural society obtained their food by growing it themselves from animals to berries. The nomads felt that the agricultural society was pampered and had to do little work, but this can easily be proved as something fallacious.
To be part of the agricultural society required diligence and urgency. Their strong work ethics proved this factual. They ran their farms, managed their crops, and took care of their house, and many children. All of these things were important for our interminable need for food. Nomads were often on the move and the agricultural society did not feel this was correct and their way to feed their families was more productive. Neither nomads nor the agricultural revolution liked each other but most of their accusations were maliciously false.
The agricultural revolution grew their food and lived in one place they felt this practice was best and did not like the way of roving with your food source. Without thinking, we impose our ideas as being right on other people, the nomads and agricultural revolution did just that. Their lives were hard worked. They felt this conflict towards each other but without them, the whole trading industry would crash.
As a human population, they were pretty much the same. They both had a need for each other in business. The two cultures traded items and received gifts for help. They both have a struggle for their natural necessities of life. Moreover, both have the same ideas for survival. The agricultural populace and the nomadic society needed to come to an agreement that without each other their existence is devastated.
THIS IS ABOUT THE NOMADIC SOCIETY COMPARED TO THE AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION.

Ok there is alot of non-essential/fluff information in this essay. This was suppose to be about the comparision in the 2 seperate lifestyles, not about how much they fought or lied about each other. So i think that you need to take all of that information out. You need to really site what things they did that were similar not different. Your first paragrph needs to basic elements: theme(what is this supposed to be about), supporting details(give descriptive information), conclusion(recap, make me believe everything you’ve told me). There is definitley some work to be done with this essay and it’s a good 1st draft. Now you just need to go back through and make sure you have made the point of the essay, cause frankly if i hadn’t read what this essay was supposed to be about i wouldn’t have known. Good luck!

MIRACLE GROWTH STICKS and HERBS?????
I am starting to grow my own herbs, and used some miracle grow sticks. You put them in the soil and as you water your plant they give off chemicals to help speed up growth. I didn’t think about it untill after I had planted them, but will these growth sticks make my herbs taste funny in any way? When eaten raw, cooked, burned???

They only effect they might have , is that with some herbs , overfertilizing produces a lot of soft, watery (relatively) new growth that has less intense flavor.

Question about growing basil?
I’m a chef and like to grow my own herbs. While I know about cooking with them, I don’t know much about growing them. My question is about basil. Someone told me to pinch off the flowers of the basil plant as this will enable greater leaf growth. Is this true???

Yes, that is true, it promotes branching too. Funny thing about basil is there are quite a few different kinds but the common or larger leafed Italian basil are the quickest growing, I find, and easy. Sprinkle four or five seeds in a four inch pot and cover lightly with soil, wet and keep moist but don’t let it sit in water and put it in a sunny spot. A few weeks later do it again because as plants get old and you use them they tend to get woody and slow growing.
I grow thousands of pots like these and they sell for four dollars each but you can do it for pennies.

My first thought is that this essay uses vocabulary not normally used in a 7th grade essay. Many words would not be used by people much older, yet there are no sources cited. I am basing my impression on having taught 6th-8th grade history for over 30 years.
You may want to reconsider some of the words used especially if they are not familar ones to you. On the other hand, this may be your own writing style and your teacher would recognize this and applaud you for your effort.

Wiccan Witches or witches of any faith…who grow their own herbs for rituals?
Do you have your herbal garden separate from your regular garden or is it in the same area? Do you do any special rituals for prepare the ground for the herbal plantings? I personally have my herbal garden for ritual herbs separate from the regular garden. The rituals for the two garden areas are different as well. How about you?
To the witches who don’t have garden areas but grow their herbs in pots… do you do a blessing or ritual for the pots as you plant them? Share with us please!!!

I grow my own herbs and such. . . I grow them in a “smaller” garden away from the main crops of veggies we have here, but I don’t think for me it matters that they’re away from the other plants. I grow things that go and help each other.
The only reason there’s a smaller garden is cause I live on a farm and have more then enough room, we have now 3 main gardens and about 5 plant beds. . . I enjoy gardening and all things green if ya couldn’t tell.

Why does so much business involve keeping people ignorant?
You get little jars or curry paste, so instead of using garlic, ginger, and a few spices, you get a jar of stuff ready made. They have videos of how to make a curry using this jar of stuff (which I assume doesn’t taste as good as one you actually make yourself). You have TV shows about fashion design, but they don’t actually show you how to make the clothes. You have big stores pushing fruits, vegetables and herbs, but not pushing the seeds to grow your own. Etc.
I think it’s highly unethical to keep people in this state of ignorance and dependence.

I think your avatar must be a self portrait. There is a VAST source of information on making everything from curry paste to fashion to atomic weapons. Most people are content to buy those things ready made for convenience and cost (it’s often more expensive to make things yourself. Mass production does that) There is no ethical issue here, both options are available to you.
