Your Questions About Gardening

Thomas asks…

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. ((*)) Read in the name of the Lord?

The Gracious God.
He taught the Qur’an.
He created man,
And taught him plain speech.
The sun and the moon run their courses according to a fixed reckoning.
And the stemless plants and the trees humbly submit to His Will.
And the heaven He has raised high and set up the measure,
That you may not exceed the measure.
So weigh all things with justice and fall not short of the measure.
And He has set the earth for His creatures;
Therein are all kinds of fruit and palm-tree with sheaths,
And grain with its husk and fragrant plants.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, O men and jinn, deny?
He created man of dry ringing clay which is like baked pottery.
And the jinn He created of the flame of Fire.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
The Lord of the two Easts and the Lord of the two Wests.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
He has made the two bodies of water flow. They will one day meet;
Between them there is at present a barrier; they cannot encroach one upon the other.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
There come out from both of them pearls and coral.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
And His are the lofty ships reared aloft on the sea like mountains.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
All that is on earth will pass away;
And there will abide for ever only the Person of thy Lord, Master of Glory and Honour.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Of Him do beg all that are in the heavens and the earth. Everyday He reveals himself in a different state.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Soon shall We attend to you, O ye two big groups!
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
O company of jinn and men! if you have power to break through the confines of the heavens and the earth, then break through them. But you cannot break through save with authority.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
There shall be sent against you a flame of fire, and molten copper; and you shall not be able to help yourselves.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
And when the heaven is rent asunder and become red like red hide.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
On that day neither man nor jinn will be asked about his sin.
In each of them there are two fountains flowing freely.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Therein will be every kind of fruit in pairs.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
The inmates thereof will recline on couches over carpets, the linings of which will be of thick brocade. And the fruit of the two Gardens will be within their easy reach.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Therein will also be chaste maidens restraining their glances, whom neither man nor jinn will have touched before them –
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
As if they were rubies and small pearls;
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness?
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
And besides these two, there are two other gardens –
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Dark green with foliage –
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
Therein also will be two springs, gushing forth with water.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?
In both of them there will be all kinds of fruit, and dates and pomegranates.
Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny?

Chris asks…

Problems with Oblivion on Steam and the Xbox 360 controller…?

I recently purchased an Xbox 360 controller to use with Oblivion on Steam and found out that it didn’t work properly. I then downloaded xpadder, which was easy to set up :), but for some reason my character only walks/runs forward when I’m moving the left stick to the top right or top left. Otherwise, my character does this choppy, slow-motion, step.

Do I have to set it to any specific settings? I’ve played with a few of them (8 way, 4 way, standard) but they all yielded the same result.

Could my mods be interrupting something? I have the Akatosh Dragon Mount, the Midas Spells, Enhanced Water, Deadly reflex Combat Moves, Complete Gardening, Streamline, DarkUID OMOD Version (it makes the menus dark red. Yeah…I made my game EXTREMELY aesthetically pleasing :D).

I’m pretty sure I’ve installed everything correctly. The controller’s buttons, triggers, bumpers and right stick ALL work fine, the left stick is the only problem. I’m also sure that it’s not a defective controller, as the little test areas in the xpadder settings show that my stick movement is just fine. :/

I’m on an ASUS G72GX-RBBX05 running Windows 7 and xpadder in Windows XP (service pack 3) compatibility mode. I’m more than sure I can run Oblivion on my computer, the graphics look awesome and everything used to run smooth when I used the keyboard. I still can’t figure out what’s going on.

GardenersCardiff answers:

Personally, I would be first to accuse deadly reflexes. It is not compatible with a LOT of other mods for Oblivion, and has been known to cause unforseen glitches.

Just sayin’.

I need help with an english text…?

I´m a prospective educator. I´m from germany and we need to write a text about our last practical training. I did this and I hope you can help me to read control.
Thanks a lot!

My text:

My practical training in a crèche

Facility
I worked in a crèche. It belongs to a nursery which is housed in an old villa. The villa is located on a hill with cherry trees. This reasoned the name of the facility. It called “Villa on the cherry hill”. It has got 3 floors and a basement. There are 9 group rooms, a small gymnasium, a workshop for children´s carpentry, a therapy room, a children´s library and a children´s cuisine.
About 150 children attend this kindergarten. The youngest ones are almost a year old. They can stay in the facility till their first day at school.
Disabled children are also able to attend the kindergarten.
A few small and large projects happen every year for example about fairy tales.

Staff
Eighteen educators take care for about 150 children. In almost every group two educators take care for about 12 to 18 children.

A typical course of day
The nursery opens from 6 a.m. till 5 p.m. The day starts with playing. At 7.30 a.m. the children are having breakfast in their groups. Afterwards they can play or take part to different activities which are voluntary. At 9 a.m. the children sit down on the table and have some fruits and tea. When they´re finished either they play outside in the garden or they go for a walk. After that they eat lunch, get ready for bed and have a nap. At 1.30 p.m. it´s time to get up. They get dressed, have a snack and a drink. Next they can play in the group room or they go outside in the garden till the parents pick them up.

My group
I worked in a group with 14 children. They were between 11 months and 29 months old. 11 children of them are female and 3 of them male. During my practical training were quite lot children to settle down.

My activities
At the beginning I found it quite hard to find proper activities for this age group. But step by step it became easier for me. I made finger games and movement games with the children. Also we coloured some eggs and we sowed some cress in them. The children were really interested in how the cress grew. I sang a lot with the children and we played some board games. Also we celebrated a few birthdays and we had to say goodbye to two children caused of their switch in a kindergarten group.

My greatest moment
I had lots of great moments. One morning I was/ have been one my own with the six youngest children of our group. First it was quite busy with all of them because two children were not settled down already. So they cried and it wasn´t easy to calm them down. Also one child hurts itself, was really upset about it and cried. But I was able to calm all down again and we sat down in the cosy corner. I took some self-made rattle´s with me. I sang many songs and we all together made music. I really enjoyed this activity and the children had also much fun.

My worst moment
I can´t remember one especially bad moment. From time to time I had a few issues during my activities. Sometimes I spoke too softly but with time it got better. Once I didn´t know how to start and to finish my activity. I felt unconfident. But I´ve got my mentor on my side. She supported me in such cases.

Consequence for my future
This age group was always my favorite one but I wasn´t sure if I´m able to work with such small children. I`m quite tall and I already had problems with my back. But at work everything was fine. I didn´t had any trouble as long as I worked back-gently and as long as I made sure to work back-gently. Now I know it´s possible for me to work with this age group and I´m happy about it.
During the following internships I´d like to work more with the parents. By now I only did the handing over. It means to take in the child in the morning and to give it back to the parents when they pick it up. Then I talked with them about how the day was and what we did. In the future I want to take part in parents’ conversations.
thanks a lot!
i already did this, it just didn´t copied in here…

Today is Tuesday, 20. April. I have tried to send an answer to your question, but Yahoo! Answers has mysteriously broken down. I spent about an hour and a half typing my answer into this box, and when I pressed “Submit”, it wouldn’t work. I shall try again tomorrow. I hope that you can wait until then. Until Wednesday! It is now a bit later on 20. April. I shall have one last attempt today. Here goes. Your text is quite good, but it is not perfect. I have altered some parts and deleted others.
