Your Questions About Gardening

Mary asks…

How do you get your hair to grow quicker?

I read somewhere that putting things like coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil (?), etc on your hair increases its growth rate (anyone no if that is true?) Anyways, if it is, i no that oil is hard to get out so is there a shampoo and/or conditioner that removes it in the first wash? Maybe an organic shampoo (specific names are greatly appreciated if known)? Also, I know that vitamin E makes your hair grow. I know this is crazy, but if I put baby oil (which contans vitamin E) on my scalp, will that help at all? I heard green tea also increases growth rate. Real or rumor? Do the pills (i.e. Hair, Skin and Nails) actually work? Someone said if you brush your hair, its helps because it gets the dead skin off your head, but someone also said brushing it makes it dry. Anyone no the truth? Does putting your hair in a pony tail help? I’ve hear that: A. It cause breakage because of the tightness of the ponytail or B. It keeps it from breaking because it isn’t rubbing against your back? Does shampooing and/or conditioning less or more help?
Do i sound desperate yet? haha I’ve done some research… (;
I know, alot of questions. I dont need an answer to EVERYONE of them, but as many as you can would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have tips of their own, too? Thank you!

GardenersCardiff answers:

Those oils do help your hair grow but your only suppose to use a little bit. Part your hair into 4 sections and use your fingers to apply it through your hair. Brushing your hair does help because it helps get the oils and moisture from the roots to the tips of your hair. Keeping your hair in pony tails break your hair off (its happened to me) because the pony tail holder is too tight and putting it in the same spot over and over causes the hair in that spot to break off. You could try putting baby oil in your hair it couldn’t hurt anything. And you should take biotin vitamins they help make your hair stronger and the stronger your hair is the better it grows. And try not to wash you hair too much because it will take out all the oils wash your hair every 2 weeks.
And remember when you put things in your hair its important to keep your face very clean so that you face doesn’t break out.

Robert asks…

Why doesn’t the USA make anything? Is that good?

Why or why not.

It seems that a country importing its food is in dire straits.

How many of you grow some of your own food?

Fisction is becoming reality.

FROM V for Vendetta:

“Lewis Prothero
So, I read that the former United States is so desperate for medical supplies they’ve allegedly sent several containers filled with wheat and tobacco. A gesture, they said, of good will.
I think it’s payback time for a little “Tea Party” they [the former United States] threw for us a few hundred years ago!
(repeated line) England prevails!
Did you like that? USA… Ulcered Sphincter of Arse-erica. I mean, what else can you say? Here was a country that had everything, absolutely everything. And now, 20 years later, is what? The world’s biggest leper colony. Why? Godlessness. Let me say that again: Godlessness. It wasn’t the war they started. It wasn’t the plague they created. It was Judgement. No one escapes their past. No one escapes Judgement. You think he’s not up there? You think he’s not watching over this country? How else can you explain it? He tested us, but we came through. We did what we had to do. Islington. Enfield. I was there, I saw it all. Immigrants, Muslims, homosexuals, terrorists. Disease-ridden degenerates. They had to go. Strength through unity. Unity through faith. I’m a God-fearing Englishman and I’m goddamn proud of it!
Good guys win, bad guys lose, and as always, England prevails! ”

Only thing is, England is mistakenly is following our lead.
I get it. Americans stick their head in the sand. Thanks for answering. Now it is clear why you Americans have a financial crisis. Everyone wanted to act as if it couldn’t happen. Like 9-11. “Oh no, they would never do that to us.”
Notice that no one can say why the USA doesn’t make anythiing and has to import its food.

Now I see why you are so easily led.

Thanks for the clarification.
Thanks Doug. You have restored faith in your country.

GardenersCardiff answers:

Its simply too cost prohibitive to make things in the US. Cost of labor, insurance, regulations, etc are much cheaper in other countries. Even if a company wanted to be patriotic and eat the cost and make things here, if its a public company the stock prices would tank and you would never get any credit or investment money and that’s what businesses run on. Now what is ironic is that the US is actually cheaper than some other countries like Japan and Germany. That’s why many German and Japanese companies have built car plants here in the US (as long as they are non-union).

Sandra asks…

I’m turning organic and need help?

Does this sound like a good plan to you, and does it sound affordable?

First I am going to try and grow my own fruits and vegetables. I am cutting all meats out, and definitely fast food because it is disgusting. The only thing I ever drink is Tea, Real Lemonade, Soy Milk, and Juice. I’m going to try and make a lot of things homemade instead of buying them. And I’m a big fan of pasta, so that’s good right?

Ok then skincare is something I’m very big on.
I’m going to make my own facial routines. I am going to make my own shampoos and conditioners, which I already do. I’m going to try out crystal deodorant. I’m going to switch over to organic make-up. I will try and either make my own soap or buy some organic soap.

Oh and I can’t switch over to organic cleaning products yet because I still live with my parents and they do not understand how scary some of the stuff is that we use in our lives.

And here’s a big question, Is it easier to save money on buying organic stuff, or making your own stuff?

Please add in anything you would like to share, and anything that I am missing or need to adjust to.

GardenersCardiff answers:

It’s a trade off between money and time. Doing all of those things yourself is pretty time-consuming, so if you have a job, it makes sense to buy some of them. On the other hand, if your goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, you may need fairly little money and if you’re especially good at any of the things you do, you could even turn that into your job – selling homemade soaps, homegrown veggies, etc. At your local farmers market.
