I can’t tell from your question, but here is a good article on how to build soil. It won’t happen overnight, but getting your soil healthy is the first step to having a fantastic garden or lawn. If this area does not get at least 8 hours of sunlight daily, you will be limited as to the types of vegetables you can plant, though there are TONS of flowering or foliage plants that will thrive in partially shaded areas.
